Armenia in one place

Armenia is a small country, but it has a history of millennia: here are everything from Yeghegis to the Ararat plain, from the Urartian fortress of Erebuni to modern Yerevan, founded in 782 BC.

In 301 AD Armenia is the first to officially adopt Christianity, and in the 7th century the churches of Hripsime and Gayane are built, shaping the image of early Armenian church architecture.

Today Yerevan brings together old neighbourhoods, Soviet‑era buildings and new cafés and cultural spaces, creating a city where history, everyday life and leisure meet.
