Odzun Church

Odzun Church is located in Lori Province, on the edge of the Dzoraget River gorge. It was built in the 5th–6th centuries and is a valuable example of early Christian Armenian architecture.

In front of the church stands a rare type of stone monument dating from the 5th–7th centuries, which is associated with the commemoration of martyrs.

Horomayr Monastery

Horomayr Monastery is located a few kilometers from Odzun, deep within the Dzoraget gorge. It was founded around the 12th century and served as an important pilgrimage site for the Lori region.

The monastery is partially ruined, which creates a romantic atmosphere against the backdrop of dense vegetation and the sound of the gorge.

Today

Both sites are often combined within the Haghpat–Sanahin–Odzun travel itinerary.
